Essay
All values must be won by contest. I tend to believe that we should embrace the contemporary practices and ways of life instead of having a slavish lingering to the local customs and traditions.
A deep dive into the subject will help us to understand all the aspects of this topic holistically.

To begin, let us analyse a few new trends and their impact. The gifts of science such as Internet and television have given rise to a new world order. The boundaries are not the barriers any more. This exposure has led people of different countries to re-evaluate and reassess their ways of living and thinking. Thus, we see fast-food delicacies of West finding their niche markets in East. Similarly, Eastern practices of Yoga and Naturopathy find their followers in West. The effect is so profound that English, the native language of Europe and Americas is equally popular in India. On the other hand, words like – pundit, mantra, and avatar, which are derived from Hindi have become a part of common English parlance. With the advent of modern means of communication and transport, the world seems to have transformed into a big village where dwellers can freely interact and exchange goods and services. Archaic practices and philosophies are challenged and supplanted by the modern and relevant ones at supersonic speeds. ulnder, our cultures and traditions today have a strong hue of global colors than ever before.

Overall, this seems to be a positive step in the journey of human civilization. We are no more suffering from the frog-in-the well syndrome and have become more open and inclusive in our approach. Such mindset and approach provides for a better world where instead being into a polemic state we strive to find the best solutions to the common problems and let the truth prevail.
A word of caution though, blindly following foreign traditions and cultures, is not advisable. Thus, fast-foods do save a lot of time, but they are also known to cause a lot of health hazards. A pragmatic way would be to adapt only those practices which are in our best interest.

To conclude, I go concede that the modern trend of globalization is a blessing in disguise. We should wholeheartedly adapt the salutary practices irrespective of their source of origin.
